Dr Sue Armstrong
MA VetMB VetMFHom CertIAVH MRCVS RsHom
Appointed 18th May 2016

Sue graduated from Cambridge University with a BA (Hons) in History of Art in 1981, going on to complete her VetMB in 1984.   Her career in veterinary medicine (both conventional medicine and surgery and integrative medicine) is well established and Sue runs her own veterinary centre in Wetherby, lectures internationally and has recently published a textbook on Cancer in Animals (Published by Narayana Verlag GmbH). She is past president of the BAHVS and founder member and clinical director of the BAVH. Sue is also a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths and runs a human homeopathic practice in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire.

Sue’s love and appreciation of the arts is less well known in the public domain. Sue has always highly valued the dual perspective of art and science and has striven in her work to appreciate and include aspects of both. It was her philosophy combined with her love of nature and constant questioning of all that is within and around us that provided the bedrock for the deep friendship between her, Michael and Eileen Scott.

Sue is married to Rick Armstrong, a publisher, business mentor, author and artist. She has two children.

Dr Wendy McGrandles
BVMS VetMFHom MRCVS
Appointed 26th April 2017 (treasurer)

I come to SCAF with a business background of almost 30 years. Having graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 1983 I founded my own veterinary business and holistic brand in 1990.

I met Sue Armstrong 15 years ago while training in Homeopathy I was encouraged by her passion in Homeopathy and her holistic approach to health and disease.
I am currently a partner with Sue in the British Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy and was delighted when approached by the current trustees of SCAF to be involved in another project

I have been involved in the charity sector for many years initially as a trustee and then chairperson of RDA Glasgow Group for 10 years and I am currently a trustee for The Scottish Homeopathic Research and Education Trust I hope I can bring the experience already gained in this sector to help SCAF succeed in its aims

What has this to do with the creative arts-very little but I have a sound background in both charity regulation and finance which I hope will add another dimension to my creative colleagues.

When not involved in business or charities I am involved with my husband in buying or breeding horses some of which we race or event and looking after our young stock at home.
